Building customer relations and establishing trust doesn’t happen overnight. Think of it in terms of dating someone new. The last thing you want to do is jump ahead, skip the formalities and present the engagement ring. Imagine what kind of reception you’d get.
If you don’t spend time getting to know your customer (date), you fail to establish basic lines of communication and a relationship is never built. You need to discover who they are as a person, what their likes and dislikes are, and what you have in common with them. When Should You Fire a Customer?
Firing a customer might sound like great fun. After all, isn’t that what we are in business for – to make our own decisions and be our own boss? It’s not like we ever had the choice as an employee. If you work for a company, you’ve got to put up with all their customers – no matter what.
That being said, firing a customer is a very serious thing and should not be taken lightly. Personally, it’s always a last resort for me, and I only proceed when I have a very good reason to do so. Continue reading »
