So, what is this blog all about?

Well, to sum things up, it’s about starting a business and making money when you really don’t have any money to invest. It’s about businesses that work in the real world. Many of these I’ve tried myself, and many more are ventures I would like to try in the future. They are not glamorous by any stretch of the imagination, but they are real, and results are achievable with just a little work.

Will you get rich by following any of the advice on this site? Probably not. It takes a special kind of person to start a business from scratch and build up a six or seven figure income. Can you make any money by following the advice here? The chances are good, however; it’s up to the individual. How dedicated are you? Are you willing to work hard? Are you tenacious by nature? Can you learn from your mistakes, tweak your methods, and try again?

I’ll be covering everything from gutter cleaning, candle making, window cleaning, Internet marketing, to home sitting and dog walking…and the list goes on. If it can be started on a shoestring, then I’ll likely be talking about it. However, I will also mention a few of my favorite non-shoestring startups that will require more of an investment.

In short, this blog is written for anyone that has a desire to start their own business, feels an overpowering urge to get out of the rat race, wants their independence, or simply wants to supplement their income. Most of the business ideas I talk about can be started with a minimal investment and run either full-time or part-time.
